Formulating Policy Proposals for the Japan of Tomorrow
The most important function CCIs are called on to perform is to help solve the problems facing their regional communities by offering opinions on behalf of the local economy and society, by marshalling the power of the private sector to actively recommend and lobby for needed policies, and by working toward their implementation.
JCCI conducts surveys and studies from a medium-to-long-range perspective on such key issues as economic measures, small business policies, the tax system, finance, economic regulations, the global environment, comprehensive community planning, the declining fertility rate, social security reform, administrative and fiscal reforms, education, labor issues, international relations, and the Constitution. Working with the 515 local CCIs nationwide, we submit policy recommendations to the government, political parties, and concerned agencies and organizations and lobby for public policies incorporating those ideas.

Business Outlook (CCI-LOBO)
Since April 1989 we have conducted surveys designed to provide a fast and accurate picture of regional business trends to be used in recommending economic measures.
Near the end of each month, we interview industry associations in various sectors through participating CCIs with regard to business sentiment and the issues facing each industry. We then publish the results. This survey has become a valued tool for public agencies and private think tanks because it allows them to grasp trends in the real economy quickly and accurately.
